Introduction to Tokyo Corkage

Welcome to Tokyo Corkage.  If you found this small corner of the Internet, most likely you have an interest in good food and good wine.

On the food part, Tokyo is famously one of the greatest restaurant cities in the world.  Japanese people seem obsessed with food, and the variety of great food that you can find here still amazes us after years spent eating and drinking here.

There is one caveat–Tokyo restaurants do not always have great or affordable wine lists.  A growing number of restaurants do allow to you to bring your own bottle for a corkage fee, but the fee is often quite expensive and it is hard to say that these restaurants really “welcome” customers bringing their own wine.

Over the years, we have found some restaurants that really want their customers to enjoy their food with some wine that the customers may want to bring.  We often taste the wine with the staff and visit friendly restaurants over and over again.

We hope that this website will help more people find restaurants where they can really enjoy a bottle of their own wine with some great food.
